My old man is looking for tires for his 2014 Grand Cherokee, size P265/60R18. He's looking at either Dunlop Grandtreks or Goodyear Ultra Grips. Anyone know anything about either of these?
Help tax is above.

for winters? see if you can find marangonni 4ice E+ in his size.
we were skecptical when we first got them from audi. my dad is a michilen man through and through, so when we needed winters for his A3 TDI, he wants X-ice2 fromt he dealer.
dealer told him audi uses the marangoni.
dad: huh? what do the italitans know about winter tires?
dealer guy: well, audi recommends them for a reason...
this was 5 years ago. we still have those tires, and will be equiping all of our cars with them now.
pros:
1:they LAST. we have 5 years and the tread depth is only 1/2 of what it was. great for the winter to evaquate the snow and slush. we are replacing due to age this year
2:they grip. our FDW a3 TDI out-performs my moms AWD lexus IS250 on X-ice2's.
3: you can stud them if you want
cons: they are loud.

Just barely too small, but thanks for the recommendation.

Of those two I would go for the Goodyears. The other ones don't tend to last very long in my experience, can be very difficult to balance, and just generally feel inferior to other tires.

Their website is broken for me.

just checked, they only have up to a 17 in winter...you SHOULD be able to drop down 1 inch in tire size though no?

Does Cooper make the Discoverer M+S winter tire in that size? Those were a BEAST for me in the WV mountain winters, with a good price.

He might be able to, yeah. I'll let him know.
Also, any idea where to get these in the GTA, or is it an order thing?

Doesn't look like they do, but there are other Discoverers. Thanks for the tip!

oh your in the GTA? nice!
I just double checked their website. the 4 ICE is only avaible as a 235/65 R 17 XL, but their other winter tire (Meteo HP) comes in a 255/55 R 18 XL
Id check an audi dealer first frankly. their will probably be the simplest to get it from.

Alright, thanks!
And nope. I'm from Toronto (my dad lives in Aurora), but I currently reside here in lovely Ottawa.

Is he looking for dedicated winter tires, or just all-season (or possibly all-terrain) truck/SUV tires that are good in winter?

Dedicated winters. There are already all-seasons on it, I believe.
